really liked it
bookshelves: sci-fi-fantasy

The title character is a bio-engineered “new person” discarded in Thailand by her Japanese owner. Emiko soon finds herself caught between dangerous forces in this bleak, near-future, science fictional world filled with religious and ethnic extremism, bio-engineered plagues, and copyrighted corporate calories.
