I enjoyed reading this book. C.E. Morgan writes in a lyrical style that I found seductive and harsh at the same time. I could not stop reading. The only disappointment with the book was the ending because it appeared rushed as if the author grew tired of her characters and allowed for a solution of sorts that didn't seem to go with the rest of the novel.

In some ways, I felt that the battles between Aloma and her lover (using this word is stretching the truth a bit) Orren frame the larger ongoing "battles" between the sexes where verbal language fails to convey individual desires or understanding and therefore common ground will not be forthcoming.
