I've read several reviews of this book that compare this one to the Series of Unfortunate Events. I don't find them all that similar. They both have down on their luck orphans in them, but the writing styles seem completely different to me.
Wally and Cheyenne are orphans in Cincinnati who live in a not-so-great orphanage. Cheyenne has terrible allergies, and Wally's feet smell really horrible, so when two ladies come to take them home for a trial run they are excited. Then they start to notice strange things, like one of the ladies has an extra set of arms, and the rules of Mandible house are really weird. "Rule number three: Any and all unusual noises or odors that you may notice in Mandible House are none of your business and are never to be asked about."
What have they gotten themselves into?
