** spoiler alert ** A highly entertaining story set in one of the most turbulent periods of English history, known as the time when "Christ and his saints slept." Catrin and Oliver's story had me involved from practically the beginning. Though, when Catrin found out that her husband was alive, but had abandoned her, and was still going to go back to him, I could have hit my head against the table. Especially with the list of meager excuses she gave to Oliver, silly woman. Though, she learned the hard way that Louis hadn't changed one bit.

This is the second book of Chadwick's that I've read, and I have to say I think it's my favorite so far.
