Nothing like a little Neanderthal-style melodrama.

A lot of research went into this book, often at the expense of the story; but the story also has several great moments. It is the story of a girl from a species with a future being adopted and raised by a species marked for extinction and because of this, the moments of tenderness are also quite poignant.
