I have started DD age 8 reading the Ramona books and while buying those I found this autobiography of Beverly Cleary. I didn't know she was an Oregonian. My MIL says Ms. Cleary frequently was a guest at the state fair and other places. Certainly an author I remember from my childhood.

Darcy I think this is the first biography I ever read in like 5th grade. I remember it clearly because I too loved the Ramona books. I hope you like it!

John Melendez I've read a few bios; one I really enjoyed was Laura Ingalls Wilder; even if you've read the novels, the real story is like a novel! The best is the "Little Britches" series : author Ralph Moody had a phenomenal memory of his childhood and young years. He didn't start writing them until he was in his 40's.Donna
