Financial Shock: A 360 Degree Look at the Subprime Mortgage Implosion, and How to Avoid the Next Financial Crisis

This is a very well written book. I have a mortgage background and have been following any number of articles, interactives and tutorials since the current Financial Crisis began. It was good to see the same concepts I have learned about in other places reinforced and explained here. Zandi takes all the aspects of this complex crisis and traces it globally, nationally, by industry, economics, and politics.
I particularly enjoyed Chapter 11, subtitled: Credit Crunch, where the actual unfolding of the Financial Crisis is outlined piece by piece; and Chapter 12, subtitle: Timid Policymakers Turn Bold.
In my experience, solutions offered, which Zandi does in Chapter 14, are never the panacea, simply a jumping off place. (Frankly, I always think authors, no matter how renowned are somewhat brave to put their solutions out there)
Another book on the same topic: CHAIN OF BLAME by Paul Muolo and Mathew Padilla. It is the credit crisis explored through the people that were involved in the Sub-prime crisis.
