really liked it

I've been trying to think of a cute way to write this review, to say something about this book while skating around it's central tropes, but it is really just best to come out and say it: THIS IS A BOOK ABOUT WEREWOLF GANGS IN LOS ANGELES, WRITTEN IN FREE VERSE POETRY. I reckon there's plenty of room for disagreement on the necessity of this specific form for this novel -- personally, I think it works -- and maybe not everyone will be as taken in by what I think are beautiful, jarring, resonant intersections of our modern lives and dirt-old souls, but let's be real. FUCKING WEREWOLVES, Y'ALL. It's not perfect, but this might be the coolest book I have ever read.
