did not like it

WAR & PEACE was hundreds of pages longer than THE RED BADGE OF COURAGE, a book set during the Civil War, and yet it took me WEEKS to finish this 128 page text. Ugh!
Certainly, for the time period, the struggles of the protagonist were of interest, but for a modern woman, who has watched cowardice celebrated and fear lauded, not as a weakness, but as a protective instinct, I had difficulty feeling...anything.
The use of colors to develop themes was interesting, but that was about it.
