Why do YA authors think that their books must be littered with profanity? Except for the annoying word choice, I think may attract YA readers. Teachers will love the literary references, especially Whitman's "Song of Myself", as a group of not-so-popular teens set out to find the missing (and very popular), Margo Roth Spiegelman. Adult characters are stereotypical.

Chuck The language in YA books frustrates me too. Pat asked us to find more engaging books for kids over the summer, but I feel my options are really limited.
