I'm glad I read this novel. I've seen the movie a few times in the past, but nothing can compare to the experience found within the pages of this Arthur C. Clarke classic.

I wonder why I put off reading it for so long. It truly is one of the best pieces of science fiction I have ever read. Arthur Clarke has the ability to create a world, a situation, a exploration, we so desperately want to know. He has created a dark, yet rather astonishing and hopeful, portrayal of our origins and existence in this vast of empty space.
