** spoiler alert ** loved how Lehane managed to get the psycotic fear of the patients across. Unnerving somewhat but not quite scary as he still managed to make me feel sorry for these crazy killers! he even made it easy to understand Teddys character, the brave face he put on and the deep emotional scars he was hiding which was explained piece by piece until the end were all brilliantly put across to form one very interesting character. Very talented writer and I will definatley pick up his other books.

I thought it was good but a bit predictable towards the end I would of prefered the route the book appeared to be taking at the beginning- a good crime / coverup story. But in saying that I still enjoyed it and the twist even if predictable was still good, gave it more suspense and made it more challenging from a readers point of view. The whole dream sequence up to the point where chuck is unmasked was great for those chapters I couldnt put it down without knowing. & loved the end - not a fan of cliff hangers but this one actually made me smile.

I'm definatley looking farward to the film already seen some screen shots which look perfect.
