I truly enjoyed this book, but I liked the parts where Alice was younger better than the parts that described her life as First Lady. I wonder how much similarity she actually had to Laura Bush, since clearly her husband is GWB. I think Curtis Sittenfeld is quite brilliant at creating characters and describing their mental states, but I didn't like this book quite as much as Prep.
