You Suck: A Love Story
by Christopher Moore
My favorite mix in this one? The flipside of the scene from "A Dirty Job" when Jody enters Charlie Asher's store.
Oh, me, too. I was so impressed and stunned and elated and just so completely smitten with that part. "A Dirty Job" was the first Moore book I ever read, but I'd seen the cover of "Bloodsucking Fiends" and read a few pages at the bookstore, and I remember wondering during that scene if "that redhead was the same one from the other book."
Me too! Now I think I need to go back and read "A Dirty Job" again, just to see where things from this book are referenced. :)

One of the coolest things about Moore is not only his sense of humor, but his way of making totally absurd things seem normal. I'm pretty sure I've said that in a previous review. But he proves it further in this book, the sequel to "Bloodsucking Fiends."
After being Jody's minion for so long, C. Thomas Flood finally joins her as a bloodsucking fiend when his vampire girlfriend learns the secret of changing another. This makes life a little harder, as Flood can no longer work, nor can either of them go out during the day...not to mention their promise to the local authorities to leave town, which they still haven't fulfilled.
Enter Abby Normal, a 16 year old goth wannabe who wants nothing more than to serve her dark master, the vampire Flood, and his Countess. Meanwhile, the Animals return from Vegas with a money hungry hooker named Blue, and the old vampire is back on the loose.
This book was great, very funny and well written. I love the way Moore mixes in char...more
