I was really looking forward to read Evil at Heart, the third book from the Gretchen Lowell series. Now that I am finished it, I have some mixed feelings. I'm disappointed for one. Where was Gretchen? We get a small taste of her towards the end of the book, but it was too little, too late. The relationship between Gretchen and Archie has changed, which I knew would have to happen in the series eventually. Gretchen can't pull Archie around like a dog on a leach forever, but with this change in relationship the chemistry between Archie and Gretchen wasn't as strong as in the previous books. They didn't even share a kiss, boring! It will be interesting to see where Cain takes the story in the next book.
