First, I have to say that I love Wally Lamb, and I hope he keeps writing. She's Come Undone is one of my favorite books. This one, though, was overly ambitious. There is way way way too much that happens to this one couple, Caelum and Maureen. Lamb attempts to tie together the Columbine tragedy with Caelum's ancestry, and the relationship of his family with the local women's prison. Any of these on their own would have made a fantastic story, especially given Lamb's writing skills. But stitching them all together made the book bloated and bogged down. I do recommend it, because Wally Lamb is great at character development and dialog.
