Re-reading this novel for a 3rd (or so) time. I love it. The story depicts a fantasy society in the throes of revolution and follows the life of one Eliste vo Derrivale as she's swept up in the whirl-wind of evolving politics. This particular character's development is most enthralling to behold... and the author uses such intricate language that it sets all scenes and describes every situation beautifully.

The vocabulary in the novel is very extensive and takes a moment to get used to if you've been reading a lot of easier novels, but it's worth reading-- even if you might have to keep a dictionary in close juxtaposition.

My favourite part of the book is that it stands alone. You read it and it has an ending. That's it! I also LOVE the fact that no matter how many times I pick this novel up, I'm captivated by it every time.
