it was amazing

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books anyway, and this book -- which basically takes Austen's original text and adds in extra scenes (of "ultraviolent zombie mayhem!") and sometimes slightly modified dialogue -- is, in my opinion, an interesting take on the text. It does provide a potential answer for some questions: Why were the officers in Meryton anyway? Why did Charlotte really marry Mr. Collins?

This book is not, I realize, for everyone. But literature is a thing to be celebrated, not admired from afar, and this is, as far as I'm concerned, a wonderful tribute to Austen and her ongoing popularity. And for me, if nothing else, it was a good test of what I remembered of the original dialogue! And I try to re-read Pride and Prejudice periodically anyway -- with so much of the original text preserved, this fits in nicely with that scheme.
