This was another impulse purchase from Fopp: it was cheap and sounded intriguing.

Not an easy read by any means, there are a lot of ideas mixed up in here. Not having a strong spiritual belief, I came to it with a fairly open mind, and viewed it initially as a source of information.

There are some interesting elements to the book: it provides some potted histories of various different sects and groups. However the constant need to tie everything together became quite annoying in parts.

There are the usual get out clauses interspersed too, but overall I found it an interesting read, although it hasn't changed my approach to life radically!
