School-reading, and justified so, I think. Zuckmayer's Hauptmann von Köpenick not only has a basis in reality (if memory serves correctly, the protagonist was inspired by a real life person), it also contains many historical themes and issues that are worth analyzing and understanding. It makes good reason for a german class, and I'm pretty sure I liked reading it in class.
However, if you are not in school and you desperately want to read a theater play (why not jsut go to the theater?), I'd recommend others. (Rhinoceros, for example, or Antigone.)
Just saying.
