I identified strongly with many parts of this book. My depression symptoms are somewhat different from the author's, but I share her frustration with the mental health system and with society's view of depression and other mental illnesses. The protagonist/author is not always likable, and the book can be frustrating at times because of this. I especially had problems with some of the claims she made in the afterword. But, on the whole, I applaud the effort to provide a from-the-inside look at depression.
