Effective presentation skills is the "killer app" that can set us apart from others in the real world; whether it be teaching, working at a non-profit/ministry, or working in the business world. At some point, we will have to present something, and being able to do a sensational job doing so will dramatically improve our effectiveness.

I tagged this book in my Amazon wish list when I first saw about six months ago, and then just got it as I'm gearing up to teach/present a few dozen classes/sessions at this summer's Quest. Although at first glance it may just look like another cheesy cliché PowerPoint manual, "Presentation Zen" is really much more of a philosophy or approach to preparing, designing, and delivering presentations. In fact, it starts with paper and pencil, eschewing a computer initially.

This book is useful far beyond just teaching someone how to make a good looking slide deck. It will help you organize your thoughts, prepare your speech, deliver it smoothly, and look polished and professional.

A must get and must read for anyone not planning to spend the rest of their life under a rock.
