Franklin is quickly becomming a favorite author of mine. I don't know much about 12th Century England, but I feel like I'm learning a lot about it by reading her books. This was a really excellent mystery that wasn't easily figured out. I really like the main character, Adelia. And her supporting cast is as lovable as the first book. The only complaint I have is that Adelia is a bit repetitive in her rants against the Church. I did enjoy her conversation with the Mother Superior at the convent, however. That was enlightening.
