Kate Sanderson, daughter of an oh-so-sensible mother and an oh-so-romantic father, often finds herself trying to balance her rationality with real-life. Winning a trip to Verona, Italy for the summer to study Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet might help, she thinks. Then she meets the handsome and charming Giacomo. Oh, dear...she does try to remain practical and logical. But it's Italy for heaven's sake!

I loved this book! It was hilarious! My only complaint is that the author characterized Kate as a woman scorned...acting like she's 50! No teenager responds to heartbreak this way! And one other thing: the author writes from everyone's point of view. However, Lucy and Tom get very little page-time. Their thoughts seem to be an after-thought. There could have been quite a bit more character development for those two.

That aside, thoroughly enjoyable!
