This is the 3rd Palahniuk novel I've read, and I haven't been so impressed with the others (Survivor and Choke) that I feel especially compelled to continue reading more- except I already own a stack of them and I might as well read what I bought. They are quick reads.

Lullaby is different to me than what I've read of his previous work, in the sense that the plot is far more interesting than in the others, but the writing, while not necessarily all that great in those two, loses any unique voice. It's rather generic and bland, and nothing stands out, save a few passages here and there.

Also, the narrator/protagonist has a fairly weak presence in this one, which lets the other interesting characters come through all the better. A nice change from previous experiences with Palahniuk.

On to Snuff. They get better, right?
