A book of massive ambition.

My reaction is mainly emotional - I get a strong sense of truth (at least of Bolano's vision of the truth). I feel I somehow have a more complete feel for what literature can be from this book.

My intellectual response is more confused. I am going to have to re-read it before I can say I am approaching an intellectual understanding of it.

The fact that there still enough people left in this 180 character twitter world willing to make 2666 an international best seller fills me with hope.
