really liked it
bookshelves: mystery

Lehane does a great job of keeping the reader in suspense from beginning to end. He masterfully develops his protagonists by not just focusing in on their heroic qualities, but by allowing us to be exposed to Patrick and Angie's vulnerabilities as they must deal with the dark gritty world of child abductors. BE PREPARED for some creepy scenes! Aside from just being an entertaining mystery novel full of twists and turns, I found several of the moral dilemmas worthy to ponder, especially at the story's conclusion. I look forward to reading more of Lehane's work.
