I have read many books in the perspective of the kidnap victim but this book, in the descriptions and the way it is written makes me believe there is a hidden memoir within the story.

I disagree that it shouldn't be a young adult book, as this theme and character is that of a young girl. Perhaps this book can give a girl a clear understanding of what it means to BE a victor and not a victim (as "Alice" let herself be)

Not a book I'd recommend or want to read again, as I already read enough of this **** on CNN.com
