This is the second title by writer Erik Larson that I have read recently. And, truth be told, I am already part-way through another of his works. So, that should indicate how much I enjoy his style of writing! His writing is so thick with details from his clearly masterful research of subject, era, location, culture. He pulls in minutiae that illuminate characters and in a way that - if attempted by another, less-talented craftsman - would come off as boring or tangential. But, not with Larson! Can't wait to read his next book - I hear he's been in Paris doing research!
