** spoiler alert ** Another, 'judging a book by its cover' purchase. Actually, I bought the second book and realized it was the second in a trilogy and went bake to B&N and got the first. Stewart takes an unlikely group of adolescents (and one...toddler, pretend I didn't tell you that) and shoves them into a world with intellectual challenges and emotional obstacles. Each character has a talent, or gift, and when combined, the group is a force to be reckoned with. They take on many challenges together and you never quite know the outcome. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to everyone 8-90.
