An important book, surprisingly for its sense of empathy -- as an atheist, it's hard to understand the motivational drives of religious believers, and Dawkins does a good job of exploring that. The arguments are true, but the writing is dry, and no one's going to be converted by it, despite his proclaimed intentions. I do think there's a silent majority who only, as Dawkins writes, "have a belief in belief" -- people who don't really believe in God, but like the thought of believing, and so go through the motions. Maybe this book will help those folks come to terms with their own rationality.
