Don't Cry
by Mary Gaitskill
by Mary Gaitskill
After reading (and loving) Because They Wanted To, this book was a bit of a disappointment to me. There were some stories that were good, and then there were stories that were too aware of themselves, in which I felt Mary Gaitskill behind the words instead of the narrator. It's a weird feeling when you detect that merge, and then it's just disappointing. Overall an okay read, but not as good as I hoped it would be.
