really liked it

I give the book 4 starts and not the 5 it deserves in my opinion, because the translation was not so good. In fact it distracted me very much at a certain point and the storyline became 'less important'. That's very bad.
Usually I do not have many troulbe with translated works, but this was the exeption to the rule.

But... The story follows Leo Demidov and his family, after the events that were told in Child 44. This book was evenly well told, the atmosphere was almost tangible. Cold, very cold in Siberia, paranoia in Moscow, in Budapest a protest with many deaths, a girl that falls in love. Two parents that try their best, but are vicitms of the earlier circumstances, struggeling to keep the family together. Or...?

If the translation is bettered, I can also recommend it to Dutch readers. Otherwise: read the original!
