I can’t imagine a time when this play will become irrelevant. So long as desperate people clash in a frantic grab for clients and payoffs, this play will have a place. The real estate market is just set dressing for the gripping human drama Mamet executes. Now that I’ve worked for a private company, and seen how intense competition gets, I have both admiration and distrust for people who are players in business.

This is a fast-paced, edgy play. It’s a masterwork of modern drama, being both thoughtful and concise. It’s great to read or see, and the film adaptation is solid as well. Check it out, I say.
