This was very interesting, and towards the end, I really enjoyed it. But the story is told from many points of view, and often the story tellers don't return, so you only read their POV once. I found that a bit disconcerting and frustrating. And the title is a bit misleading, because the characters weren't any of them really montrous. Many were, however, quite quirky and while some were hard to believe, several were quite memorable. The story - finding out who your real dad is - is nothing more than an excuse to learning about ancesters and history and how we are connected in ways we didn't think we were, biologically and otherwise. Still, I think all the praise is a bit overdone. A word of caution - if you find the first 10 or 15 pages almost unintelligible, as I did, don't give up - the writing gets much better quickly.
