Cloud Atlas is my number one most recommended book, so I decided to try another by David Mitchell. I was looking for Ghostwritten, but came away with this one instead. Like Cloud Atlas, Number9Dream is made up of intertwined narratives -- in the form of dreams, daydreams, and stories within the story -- in various genres, but follows a single character in the course of a few weeks or months. There are some incredibly violent scenes that haunt the main character (and may haunt me) and I got a little bogged down in one of the chapters, but otherwise I really enjoyed the book. Now, on to Ghostwritten...
