This is a diet book disguised as a relevation about healthy eating a la Francaise. To eat the way the author suggests would mean dieting. Even for a French woman. I lived in Paris, and they eat a lot more bread and butter than this book would recommend. I'm not saying the French aren't healthier than Americans, in fact I'm sure they are, but the secret is not the boring recipes in this book. The French secret is fresh ingredients, honest preparations and not sitting on one's derriere all day long.
