This is a difficult book for me to review. The story is compelling, well written and as original as anything I’ve ever read. There are lines in this book that are hysterical , there are lines that make you profoundly sad and there are lines I just don’t get. Beatty’s command of the English language is evident, but a bit over my head. I needed a dictionary beside me as I read. I would recommend this to anyone, as it does what good books of this genre should do and that’s promote thought on social issues that a reader such as myself may not be able to comprehend or experience in anyway other than through literature.
