Finally, a refreshing and enjoyable read! I had almost forgotten what it was like to read such a page-turner...

Miranda's Big Mistake is centered around the character, Miranda, and the new man in her life, Greg. Miranda believes that Greg is "the one," until she discovers that he is married and has recently left his pregnant wife. Once Miranda finds out that Greg is not the amazing catch that she thought he was, she decides to seek revenge.

Accompanying Miranda in her revenge (and throughout the book) are her friends and co-workers, who all have sub-stories in the novel. And while the story of Miranda's revenge on Greg is an important one in the first half of the book, other areas of the plot take importance in the second half of the book, as well as some other interesting developments.

This is the second novel of Mansell's that I have read, and found it to be a better read than her current novel (well, current in the States), "An Offer You Can't Refuse." Miranda's story was well-developed and definitely the focus of this novel. While I thoroughly enjoyed the sub-plots of the story, they did not overshadow the main plot, which is what happened in "Offer." Most of the story was on the predictable side, but there were a few surprises thrown in that were good fun. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, page-turning read this summer. It will definitely be hard to put down after a certain point, so if you want to read this book, keep that in mind!
