liked it
bookshelves: fantasy

Honestly, (and I know this is sacrilege to say), but I liked the movie better. The book is clearly a political satire, but the references were lost on me. I also missed the romance of the movie which the book left out as "boring." I do wish the movie had included the prince's menagerie though.

Jenny T I confess, I liked the movie better, too. But we had the book read out loud to us in 6th grade, and the teacher had a wonderfully sarcastic tone of voice for it. It came across as a completely different story than the movie, even though some events were similar.
