i have read this book twice.
i was given this book to read over the summer to get a head start on to my drama work for the following year, at first i didn't think much of this as i read the first few pages but I did actually really into it.
It did scare me quiet a bit :|
ahaha i think the author Susan hill pulled this off very well as she manages to keep it chilling without the whole pakage of gore;blood and guts.
It also very descriptive and gives you a clear picture of the scene and what the main character Arthur sees,feels and experiences,I think thats why it does scare readers quite a bit because its almost like your there.
i thought this had a brilliant ending as i was half expecting a 'Casper the ghost' ending where everything turns out brilliant and i like how Arthur told his story from an older age and finished it at his eldest age as well.
i'm to read another Susan Hill book for my english liturature
coursework and i have high expectations for it.
