Sedaris is definitely better listened to then read. Audio form brings a richness to the stories, it is sort of like a very worldly friend telling you a story at a dinner party. Be prepared for a lot of foul language, I mean so much that even a sailor might blush. However, Sedaris is still a master at his craft, weaving his tales with deft precision. He paints himself in a sometimes very unfavorable light and gives depth to his relationship with his partner, Hugh. I enjoyed his wide range of tales, from his house in the French countryside (oh the joys of being wealthy) to living in Japan as a way to finally quit smoking.
