Wow. Ok, so maybe that vague and gimmicky introduction should have turned me off -- but it worked, I had to know what happened. By the time I got to the end of the first chapter I knew that this wasn't the light and sunny beach fodder that I was really looking for at the time, but I was committed having bought the book. This story of suicide and refugees just didn't live up to the dust jacket hype in my opinion. I mean I was told there would be magic in the story's unfolding! Sadly the person who penned the dust jacket knew how to get to me better than the author. ]]>
