Read in January, 2008, read count: Twice

I pickeed this up at the library, knowing it was a classic and highly thought of and so I gave it a go. I wasn;t confident, I had just read Catch-22 and Lord of the Flies which are both good books in there own right however I just didn't like LOTF and didn't quite understand Catch-22.

So, I was losing faith in classics slightly. When I read this I was blown away. I loved it. It was dark, mysterious and vivd. Everything I thought a 'classic' should be.

The imagery was astounding and I swear I could smell the various flowers and salt from the sea. I long to see such a sight as the views from that house.

I love it that much that when I am older and have a house and a garden etc, I would like a huge red setter, called Jasper.
