This is my first Elizabeth Scott book and I loved it, couldn't put it down and totally enjoyed the drama in Kate Brown's life. Kate is a 16 year old with a good life and then all hell breaks loose! Her dad quits his job and starts wearing a bee uniform and carrot hat to chase his "dream" selling Perfect You vitamins. Kate is forced to work for him so being in the choir goes out the window. Her best friend Anna, went to live with her aunt for a summer and lost 50 pounds and now totally ignores Kate because she is skinny, popular and dating the boy of her dreams. But there are some perks to working for dear old dad, Will, a hunk who has hit on more than half the girls in school, is working at the mall and they start hooking up at the trash dumpster. Kate thinks she is just another one of his conquests so she continues with her acerbic wit and continually acts nasty toward Will (even though she is so into him)and hjis flirting. I loved that Kate has no idea a guy might be interested in her, that she has something to offer in terms of being a great friend, and that she is not at the bottom of the food chain. I highly recommend this book to all YA teens.
