In this collection of poems Billy Collins explores mortality. Using his smart, succinct language he evokes feelings that go deeper than ordinary sentimentality associated with loss, aging and solitude.
The title poem, Horoscopes for the Dead, and Thank-You Notes have such an ironic, humorous take on death. They are the gems of this book I think. His poetry has a way of rendering the mundane in life exceptional.
You will not be disappointed reading this clever assortment.
