Intriguing world building and some excellent tales. The question is whether or not Frost can finesse the overarching story and since this is a two-part series, I'll have to read the sequel to find that out. Which I intend to do. I have to say that the tales within the tale are up to this point stronger than the frame story and the origin stories of the two key characters are inserted somewhat awkwardly. They're fairly compelling, but they break up the flow and the transition back to the main narratives were a bit clumsy, especially since there are already stories within the story.
