I've read a lot of real world vampire exposé books and this one was very enjoyable. It falls short of 5 stars because while Nuzum did travel to Highgate Cemetery, he rushed through his summary of the Highgate Vampire incident. Then again, having had a run-in with one of the "vampire hunters" myself, I can understand his hesitation to engage. Still, point off for lack of courage. I bought the book because it included Highgate.

My favorite part of the book was his recap of touring Transylvania. While his trip sounded thoroughly miserable, I am ready to pack my bags now. I want to see the country I've been reading about for decades.

He also did justice to his exploration of Whitby and his search for the Bram Stoker bench: another destination for my life list now!

Finally, if he was going to force himself to watch all the vampire films ever made, could he have included capsule reviews somewhere in the book? That was an immense amount of work on his part for so little payoff on mine.
