it was amazing
bookshelves: jewels

The book of my childhood, I first read it when I was seven and am still reading it seven years later (do the maths! :P) It was a fabulous book, I don't rate it as highly as A Little Princess or Little Women, but I am definitely not one of those people who say it was actually far worse than the film. I think it was a funny, charming little novel, though due to Nesbit's crisp, no-nonsense style of writing, it was slightly lacking in the strong feeling needed to put across the tragedy of the book. However, definitely not a disaster.
