Laurel Ooo, this looks good! Can't wait to hear what you think!

Boof I'm loving it sofar. Her letters are so similar to her books - they are like reading mini stories.

message 3: by Ayu (new)

Ayu Palar What did she write in her letters, Boof?

message 4: by Boof (new) - added it

Boof So far her letters have mainly been to Ellen Nussey, her childhood (and adulthood) friend. Back in the day of no email, phones, text etc people wrote proper letters and hers are full of little tales about what she has done, what she thought about something etc. In a time when, if you didn't live near each other, letters were the only method of communication and so it's almost like reading mini stories. Her letters are unmistakably hers, I feel. I can feel the "Charlotte Bronte-ness" in them, if that makes sense ;O)

Ayu Palar It is nice to read handwritten letters :) they're more special than just sending e-mails.

Boof I'll send it to you when I've done, if you like? You can send it back to me with a postcard from Indonesia in it (to make me drool!).

message 8: by Ayu (new)

Ayu Palar @Boof awesome! After Sherien, may I read it?

message 9: by Boof (new) - added it

Sherien But why dont u come here and bring the book yourself, Boof? I'd really love to meet u and have a discussion in person on our lovely Bronte over coffee, what do u say? ;o)

Boof I say "hell yeah!" How cool would that be? If only I had the money to drop by to wonderful Indonesia for a coffee and a chat about Bronte - heaven. You never know, I may be back someday. I had my honeymoon in Bali and Lombok and we keep saying we should got back :o)

message 15: by Ayu (new)

Ayu Palar @Boof: you should get back to Indonesia. Or maybe Sherien and I going to England?

message 16: by Sherien (new)

Sherien Wish I had the money to fly over to England! Maybe someday ;o)

message 17: by Sandy (new)

Sandy Tjan I'm not too keen on flying anywhere right now because of the swine flu thing. It's sure no fun spending your holiday quarantined in some hospital! But it's great that we are able to chat anytime here.

*offering virtual lattes to everyone* :-)
